Sample Menus & Dishes

A typical day on set with Hot Goblin looking after you will look something like this. To set you up for the day we provide a choice from any of the following: full English breakfast, porridge, cereals, toast, fresh cut fruit, filter coffee, English breakfast tea, herbal teas, fruit juices and croissants.

We always arrive two hours before service to get the porridge on. Running teas and coffees on set and at base throughout the day, with biscuits mid morning! Whenever you are ready to call lunch, we will be ready to serve delicious hot lunches alongside a hot and cold buffet table.  This will be followed by a choice of hot and cold desserts. See below to get a flavour of the type of dishes we prepare.

Afternoon teas

Include a selection of freshly cut sandwiches followed by cakes & pastries.

Hearty Meat Dishes

gammonTraditional roasts served with homemade onion gravy and Yorkshire puddings accompanied by roast potatoes and freshly prepared vegetables

Tarragon Chicken with white wine sauce served on a bed of garlic mash with French beans

Honey glazed ham with mustard sauce, red cabbage and creamed potatoes

Roast duck with Hoi San sauce sautéed potatoes and medley of stir-fried vegetables

Lamb Madras with steamed Basmati rice

Slow cooked Greek style lamb with Basmati rice and steamed broccoli

Curried Nut Roast with a mango sauce

Vegetarian botie, a delicious South African dish of baked vegetables

Homity Pie, layers of spinach, garlic fresh peas, onions and cream potatoes with spicy tomato sauce

Rolled Plaice fillets filled with spinach, served with a white wine sauce

Chunky cod wrapped in freshly prepared crepes with a tomato sauce

Our Buffet Table is a tasty alternative: available every day

Our buffet table is prepared and laid out for cast and crew members to help themselves from.  We provide this every day and it proves very popular.
